Today we started to sort the coloring on all the shots we filmed at the fun house. We saturated them and edited the brightness and the contrast. We are planning to go back to the fun house twice more next week but this time concentrating on certain shots and focussing on the lighting as it was quite drk last time we filmed. After filing in the fun house we are going to film the linking scenes in some ones hpuse and then when the weather is good we will film outside and start [planning a date for the parade.
Its rosies bday and becky passed her driving test woowoo XxX
this is where we are hoping to film our ball pit/ fun house scenes of our music video. the colours oould work realy well for our craaaazy bright theme ;D
were hoping to get good group shots here, and close ups of individuals which will be our fillers/ connector shots for our video.
we have decided that for our video we will be filming the whole song through with 4 different location, such as at a fun house, in a street, in cambridge city centre, and a playground. at each location the stars of the video will be doing crazy things such as playing in the balls pits, parading through the centre with their musical instruments, foot and hand painting, and dancing through playing apparatus.
then there will be linking shots filmed with each character doing separate things, such as one riding a scooter, the other doing gymnatics, the other playing with baloons, etc, but all looking really crazy and like they're really enjoying themselves at at the same time.
Today we made all the animations to our music video.
We cut the track down from over 4 minute to 3.06 by taking out the main bridge in the middle of the track and the third verse as well as fading out towards the end.
We wrote down the time line of the piece to help us put the animations together.
here's a little more my good friend wikipedia has to say about them:
The Go! Team are an English, Brighton-based six piece band (with two drummers) whose songs are a mixture of action theme songs, cheerleader chants, guitars and early hip hop, with a hint of '70s funk. Their songs are a mix of live instrumentation and samples from various sources.
Ian Parton conceived the project after wanting to create music incorporating his favourite things including Sonic Youth-style guitars, Double dutch chants, and car chase horn music.[1]. He started jamming these sounds together and eventually recorded Thunder, Lightning, Strike in his parents' kitchen.
The Go Team "The wrath of marcle" a video treatment by rosie becky liam and tom.
The video will centre on a person getting taken away into the song they are listening to, playing on the fact that music can be infectious, and take away people's inhibitions, getting people to join this person on their journey through the song, and allow them to explore their imaginations, and express and accentuate the emotions they feel throughout the song, whether it be through dancing, playing instruments, or just general getting down and crazy.
The look and style of the video will be 80's cliche rip off with the definitive style of that time, i.e bright clothing, ott sportswear etc. Using a desaturated style for the photography to enhance the 80's theme, this will be similar to those from polaroids, and disposable camera where the bright colours are enhanced and the shots looked aged.
For example:
Continuing with the 80's theme the props and costumes will enhance the idea of a musical parade, this will include some of the following idea; bright make up, crazy hair, jump suits, bright sportswear,\whistles, drums, cymbals balloons, ribbons,
examples of costume color/style:
For different shots we took inspiration from other music videos that share the same theme of having people following a lead character, with the crowd growing etc,
for example, Sandi Thom - I wish i was a punk rocker
and Lily Allen - LDN
both these type of videos use the theme of music taking you away, making everything bright and happy, and use good medium shots, we want to stay away from long shots to keep the scenes we shoot looking busy, and not revealing any empty spaces as people join the crowd, so we will be centreing around medium shots, and close ups that show instruments and people enjoying the music.
The video will follow a basic narrative that a person will be seen putting a cd into a player, the music starts and they suddenly transform their clothes into the style we have shown and the music will make them dance, and go outside, and dance their musical journey, picking up people (who are all wearing their neon gear) along the way, for example, there will be shots of people abandoning activities like football, shopping, swimming, buying ice creams, paperboys, etc. the person will be followed through as they travel through our chosen location, which is the glorious cambridge streets and suburbs, by the people who now magically all either have instruments, or are dancing, or doing acrobatics. when the song draws to an end the person will return to their normal clothing, and all the people will have disspaeared, revealing to the audience that itn was all in their imagination, and the music made them feel that it was really happening and it took them away to have a great time.
our video will be a fun filled colourful adventure for young, old, rich, and poor!!!!!!!!!!!
ello. this is Becky, Liam, Tom, and Rosie. the song we have chosen is the Go! Team -The Wrath of Marcle.
the Go! Team's website:http://www.thegoteam.co.uk/flash/News.html
We loved the song because its fun, fast paced, funky, and we felt we could do a lot with it, as ideas started forming straight away. Initial ideas: dancing in the street, parades, street party, mardi gras stylin', people playing instruments, camera track back (reverse), people joining a croud, eventually growing into a parade/band, 80's BABYYY, bright clothes etc.
The music video we took inspiration from was DJ Format - We Know something you don't know, where the main theme of the video is dancing in the street, dressed up in animal costumes. The ideas we took from this video are the whole music taking over people to make them dance idea, and the fun, not taken too seriously idea.
